There's a large story behind this song. Toby Gad, a pianist, and a female friend, BC Jean. Jean was feeling down and they went to get pizza. Although when ordering she realized she was on a diet, but then she realized that if she were a guy, she would eat the whole pizza. Both Jean and Toby when back to the hotel and wrote the song in 15 minutes. Jean did the lyrics, and Toby did the music. Beyoncé made the song very popular around 2008, and it was on the charts for about a year. Now, Toby has brought the song back as part of his song list. Some people think that Beyonce's version is better but AJ has put more feeling into it. The simple musical arrangement is remarkable, and the fact that he does not rely on using T&A to sell the song is very rare today.

Per Toby, they played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. One thing that I found that helped that also doesn’t make you look like an old disabled person but will help you if you can is a Service dog you can even train one yourself and in that way people like you and I can go out, have ourselves are four-legged carer, but also not feel like a cripple.

Thanks man, I’ve been listening to this song for 40 years and had no idea that 100100 meant “I” in binary. For me, it’s a very emotional song about the human condition. The video isn’t bad, but the song stands on its own. What happened in the 80s in the MTV video era was that artists would come up with a song, then later when the obligatory video is made, outside directors and writers came in and often altered the content of the video to their own interpretation of the song. And especially difficult for Rush since they have a multitude of themes and complexity in a songs lyrics, and an outside video director couldn’t necessarily marry all the elements into the video story that they would come up with.
